When installing the Active directory role in windows server 2008 and scan the role, one of the warnings is to set an external update source for the time.
Just run the following command to set the source to point to time.windows.com
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:time.windows.com /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
you can any time use w32tm /resync to resync time
